Sketch Instinct: 2025 Book Club Selections

Want to make sketching it out second nature in 2025?

That’s the goal of my new program Sketch Instinct.

To complement the library of complete-at-your-own-pace sketchnoting courses, I’m introducing a book club series that will give you the opportunity to put your new skills to use, in community.

In the upcoming year we’ll be diving into eight books that will expand your mind, sharpen your visual thinking skills, and connect you with a community of curious learners from around the globe.

Here’s how it works:

Each quarter, we’ll focus on two books. You can choose to read one or both, at your own pace. To keep the momentum and accountability high, we’ll have monthly live workshops where you can:

  • Share your reading plans and brainstorm your note-taking process
  • Check in on your progress and discuss key insights
  • Present your completed sketchnotes and reflect on your learnings

Here are the eight titles on deck for 2025:

Q1: Inspiration and Goal-Setting

  • The Infinite Game by Simon Sinek
  • Hidden Potential by Adam Grant

Q2: Visual Thinking Skill-Building

  • Generative Scribing by Kelvy Bird
  • Visual Collaboration by Ole Qvist-Sørensen and Loa Baastrup

Q3: Nature, Wisdom and Connection

  • Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer
  • Finding the Mother Tree by Suzanne Simard

Q4: Leveling Up Your Visual Practice

  • The Idea Shapers by Brandy Agerbeck
  • The Art of Visual Notetaking by Emily Mills

This book club is part of my Sketch Instinct program for lifelong learners who want to develop their visual thinking skills. You’ll get access to our library of sketchnoting courses and monthly Q & A events to get personalized feedback and support, plus the monthly book club events.

If you’re ready to unlock your visual thinking potential, I invite you to join us in 2025.

Cheers,

-Doug
